We use a variety of techniques to get you back in action and living life

At Spinefit our therapists are experienced at identifying muscle and joint imbalances and faulty movement patterns and are able to design comprehensive treatment strategies to assist in the long term resolution of chronic back pain conditions. We can design a treatment program to target your problem areas.

We specialise in the integration of osteopathy, where we identify patterns of muscle imbalance and related joint restriction, and physiotherapy. Our holistic approach combine hands on therapy with functional training to offer our patients a comprehensive, goal orientated, evidence based and proactive solution to their musculoskeletal disorders.

Our manual therapies utilised in our clinics include spinal mobilisation and manipulation, soft tissue and myofascial release techniques as well as localised dry needling of muscular trigger points.

Spinal Therapy

The practitioners at Spinefit have extensive experience in manual spinal therapy and use a combination of spinal manipulation, mobilisation, and soft tissue approaches to help patients overcome back pain

Trigger Point Therapy

Advanced Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy | At Spinefit we practice a little known form of dry needling that has been termed Advanced Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy.

Myree McGoldrick is a pioneer of trigger point therapy having accumulated 27 years experience in the treatment, management and prevention of myofascial pain and dysfunction.

When chronic pain persists in the absence of detectable injury or inflammation then the likelihood of active trigger points and resultant muscle shortening must be suspected.

Treatment focused on the release of muscle shortening using traditional methods of massage and manipulation are sometimes ineffective. This is where trigger point dry needling comes into play as this method often provides quick muscle release and long term pain relief.

At our clinic, medical gas is available for patient use which makes the process of dry needling more comfortable for our patients.

Rehabilitation

Making Backs Better with Physiotherapy | At Spinefit we offer a state of the art comprehensive treatment approach for the relief of back pain. Our treatment approach targets the cause of back pain, known to be a combination of instability caused by weakened back muscles. Strengthening these important muscles with our MedX Lower Back Strengthening spinal conditioning program and by reducing intradiscal pressure with the PROTEC Floating Lumbar Decompression Therapy they have been shown to significantly reduce or eliminate pain in 4 out of 5 individuals.

Recent studies have demonstrated that deconditioned weakened muscles are a significant factor for people suffering with ongoing chronic back and neck pain.

We apply specific intensive spinal strengthening programs, and by using the MedX Lower Back Strengthening system and PROTEC Floating Lumbar Decompression Therapy, strength and stability may be restored to the spine to reduce or eliminate pain in as little as 12 weeks.

PROTEC Floating Lumbar Decompression Therapy | Spinal decompression therapy has been extensively researched and has been shown to assist in unloading the lower lumbar spinal segments, help reduce intradiscal pressure and rehydrate damaged intervertebral discs. This therapy provides an effective treatment option for patients suffering from bulging or herniated lumbar discs or worn lumbar facet joints problems.

The PROTEC's floating support reduces the pressure on the patient's lower body, specially the lower spine and hips, by lifting and suspending the upper body, thus providing a significant reduction in disk pressure for the internal intervertebral spine.

MedX Lower Back Strengthening | The MedX Corporation has spent many decades in research and development at an estimated cost of $40 million to perfect their unique, computerised testing and exercise based machines. Over the last 30 years, the Universities of Florida and San Diego, along with various orthopedic clinics around the world, have published compelling research that shows specific spinal exercise treatment using the MedX program can help reduce or eliminate back pain in 4 out of 5 back pain sufferers.
